New Orleans Saints to open 2010 season with a parade before meeting the Vikings,Champ Bailey Jerseys

The opening of the 2010 season is less than a month away now and the are ready to step onto the field of the Superdome as the defending Super Bowl champions. A NFC Championship game rematch with the will begin the season and see it kicked off in style.
Speaking of style, this is New Orleans you know?
Doing it the only way the city knows how, New Orleans and the Saints celebrated the victory in with a appropriately labeled "Lombardi Gras." Now they're going to have a second parade to help with the 2010 Kickoff that includes a concert in Jackson Square before the game. The concert will have pop star Taylor Swift and the Dave Matthews Band.
"Given New Orleans' tradition of parades and music and food and football, we decided to combine all those things into a single celebration," said NFL Senior Vice President of Events Frank Supovitz. "The Krewe of NFL Kickoff Parade."
It's not going to be a huge parade by any means, but that is due to the other festivities going on as well,Knowshon Moreno Jerseys. Eight marching bands will strut down the street intermixed among seven floats. That is about the same size as the parade the Saints took part in for Lombardi Gras.
New Orleans chefs and musicians will join up with ex-NFL players on top of of the floats in the parade which will also have trucks decorated to represent the sixteen games in the NFL's opening weekend. Throws will be tossed from the celebrities to the crowd,Rahim Moore Jersey.
The parade will begin at 5PM central time and go down an altered route that Blaine Kern's (Kern Studios CEO) Krewe of Halloween parade goes down. It begins on Elysian Fields Avenue, then from Esplanade at the river and proceeding on North Peters to Decatur past the St. Louis Cathedral, back to North Peters, across Canal and Poydras Streets to Tchoupitoulas, and then it will begin to disband.
NFL Opening Kickoff 2010 Presented by EA Sports
~ What: A pregame parade and concert, featuring Taylor Swift and the Dave Matthews Band, in honor of the defending Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints before their 2010 regular season opening game against the Minnesota Vikings.
~ When: Thursday, Sept. 9. Parade begins at 5 p.m.; concert begins at 6:30 p.m. and will be televised on the NFL Network and NBC.
~ Where: Parade will begin at Elysian Fields and Decatur Street, continue down Decatur to North Peters Street, cross Canal and Poydras streets and end on Tchoupitoulas Street. Concert is in Jackson Square.
~ Cost: Events are free, but tickets are required. Ticket information will be announced at a later date.
Once the parade reaches Jackson Square, it will stop momentarily at the stages for live performances from the Dave Matthews Band and Swift. NBC, which will air the game and celebration, is going to be a part of it all. NBC celebrities could also end up riding in the parade.
Fans are going to be separated at the event into two groups. The first will be small (in the hundreds) and stand on Decatur Street right in front of the stage during the musical interludes. They'll shift locations as the parade comes down.
Group number two (possibly in the thousands) will stand in Jackson Square behind the first group.
This parade and huge celebration is being done not only for the opening of the NFL season and in support of the Super Bowl champion Saints. The Superdome will be filled on Thursday, September 9 with over 70,000 fans, but what about those that aren't able to be inside with a ticket? This parade, the musical guests, and more is so that all the people of New Orleans can take part in everything.
My suggestion to those that work downtown is to try and see if you can get that day off or at least leave from work a little early. That is especially true if you aren't going to be attending any of the celebration and plan on going home. You get out too late, then chances are you're going to be stuck.
Kern agrees. "All I'm going to say is the same thing I said before the Super Bowl parade in February: I would get out there early."

Generation gap-Oakland and Los Angeles Raider fans
Generation gap:Oakland and Los Angeles Raider fans
i'm Gen II being from socal and born in '78. too young to remember the first oakland raiders but old enough to remember the excitement when they arrived in LA. They were a team very easy to love as they were the coolest looking team (from a child's perspective) and had the toughness and quality on the field to back it up,Big & Tall Denver Broncos Jersey, although it didn't last very long. that's when times got bad. i saw the 30:30 show and i totally remember how many schools,Ryan Clady Jerseys, including mine, banned Raider gear as it was automatically "Gang Affiliated". I admit, it killed some of the mojo i had for the Raiders at the time since people assumed "Gang member" whenever i wanted to support my team. It was a crappy time for many socal Raider fans. Also, i never got to attend a Raider game in LA because of all the violence and hoodlums. As sad as i was that the Raiders went back to Oakland, i felt that it was bound to happen the way things were going. i would love for them to come back south but only if its done right,Big & Tall Denver Broncos Jerseys.

Patriots will face off against a different Miami team than they beat in Week 1
The Dolphins aren't the same team they were at the start of the season, which is why their matchup against the Patriots on Saturday will be an intriguing game to watch.
"Different quarterback, different coach and yeah we're a different team," said Miami linebacker .
"I think the majority of personnel is the same, but obviously if you watch this team over the last couple of months you see it's a different group attitude wise, confidence wise, execution wise."

Although Henne played one of the best games of his career, he was unable to help his team score in the red zone when it was needed the most.

He also threw four touchdown passes, two of which were caught by New England's dynamic tight end tandem of and .

Sources say two-game ban likely for Detroit Lions Ndamukong Suh's stomp
star defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh is reportedly going to receive at least a two-game suspension for shoving Green Bay Packers Evan Dietrich-Smith's head into the ground and then stomping on him during their Thanksgiving Day game. Suh did not own up to his actions in post-game interviews as well,Chris Harris Jersey.
This is not confirmed yet, but is what league sources have told ESPN.
League officials currently believe that two games will be the very minimum that Suh will be suspended and some think that the league could also require the Lions' defender to attend anger management courses,Caleb Hanie Jersey.
Detroit is also expected to issue a maximum fine of $25,000 to Suh which is the highest fine allowed under the new CBA for a player being ejected. Should Suh be suspended,Elvis Dumervil Jersey, the Lions would have to pay a $50,000 fine because team members will have been fined more than $100,000 this season.

Five Packers Receive Pro Bowl bids; Rodgers, Williams left off
Five Packers Receive Pro Bowl bids; Rodgers, Williams left off
Five members of the have been selected for the 2011 in Hawaii. Outside linebacker , cornerback , and safety Nick Collins were selected as starters for the NFC, while wide receiver and left tackle Chad Clifton will come off the bench as reserves.
The Packers also had five alternates selected, including first alternates and cornerback Tramon Williams. Wide receiver Donald Driver, inside linebacker A.J. Hawk, right guard Josh Sitton, and defensive tackle B.J. Raji will also serve as alternates.
Here's a breakdown of each player and how they earned their spot on the NFC roster.
Clay Matthews (starter): Early in the season Matthews looked like the frontrunner for Defensive Player of the Year with 11.5 sacks in his first nine games. While that pace has slowed, he still has 12.5 sacks on the season and has played a huge role in the Packers' late playoff push. He is constantly garnering double teams on passing downs, freeing up lanes for other blitzers and has played well against the run as of late, showing he has more than one dimension in his game. He has forced two fumbles and intercepted a pass for a touchdown on the season as well, making him an easy selection for voters.
Charles Woodson (starter): For those who claim Woodson was voted solely on name recognition, take a closer look. Tramon Williams may be having a better season but Woodson is no slouch. He has recorded 86 tackles, forced five fumbles, intercepted two passes, and returned one for a touchdown on the year and is the emotional leader of a Packers defense that ranks second in points allowed and ninth in yards allowed,Youth Denver Broncos Jersey. His value on the field goes far past numbers, making Woodson's seventh Pro Bowl bid a worthy one.
Nick Collins (starter): This is probably the one surprise to most Packers fans,D.J. Williams Jerseys, but Collins was able to get the starting nod thanks to a weak cast of safeties in the NFC. Chicago's Chris Harris and New Orleans' Roman Harper might have a legitimate argument to be upset, but No. 36 has intercepted three passes on the year and held down the Packers' secondary playing alongside rookie Morgan Burnett and first-year starter Charlie Peprah. His numbers have regressed from two seasons ago and last year, but Collins still has put together good enough numbers to warrant the starting nod.
Greg Jennings (reserve): Kudos to the voters for getting this one right. Wide receiver in the NFC might be the single toughest position to earn in the Pro Bowl, but Jennings finally broke through and earned his first trip to Hawaii. Atlanta's Roddy White and Detroit's Calvin Johnson were basically shoo-ins and DeSean Jackson's flashiness in Philadelphia was worth a spot as well. But Jennings, who has caught 72 passes for 1,168 yards and 12 touchdowns,Brian Dawkins Jersey, beat out the likes of Arizona's Larry Fitzgerald to earn his bid.
Chad Clifton (reserve): It's not often a left tackle from a team that has given up 36 sacks and lacks a run game makes the Pro Bowl. However, Clifton has really picked things up in the second half of the season and also got a little help from name recognition. For what it's worth, the Packers rank 8th in overall offense and fifth in the passing game, so some of that credit should go to Rodgers' blindside protector.

Willis grateful to remain with 49ers, optimistic on current team
Willis grateful to remain with 49ers, optimistic on current team
)
SANTA CLARA, Calif. - San Francisco 49ers linebacker Patrick Willis was filled with gratitude during his press conference after signing a five-year extension to remain with the 49ers through 2016. Willis thanked management and all his coaches, including head coach Mike Singletary, for helping him reach all the success and new contract.
"It means a lot," Willis said on his new contract. "It shows that they want me here."
When asked if there was a certain point as to which he felt that his contract extension (reported to be worth $50 million, with $29 million guaranteed and $11 million going towards first year of the extension) would be made official, Willis said he didn't know when it would get done, but was confident that if he continued to play well, it would happen. He said that his agent was working extremely hard to get a contract extension done, despite being under the weather.
Willis said that he still wants to get better and that through practice, preparation and playing in games, he hopes that he can showcase his improvement as a player.
"What I've done the last three years is only the tip of the iceberg," Willis said. "The best is yet to be seen."
Willis now will be a major focus for many teams with the new contract. He said that there isn't pressure on him because of the new contract.
"I feel like if you prepare well, which I do my best to every week, there should be no pressure at all," Willis said. He also said heunderstood that as a captain, he has to continue to play smart and be the vocal leader when it is necessary.
Head coach Mike Singletary said that he didn't want Willis to change now that he has a new contract.
"I expect the same thing I've been getting," Singletary said. "This guy is nothing but class."
One thing that was worth noting from the press conference was that both Willis and Singletary were very optimistic about the current team. Willis said that the team can be championship team. However, both agreed that there is a lot for the team to work on before they reach that point.
"This team can be as great as we want it to be," Willis confirmed.
===
Head coach Mike Singletary also spoke briefly after Willis. Singletary, then as a linebackers coach, admitted that he wasn't sold on Willis when the 49ers were considering to draft him at #11 overall in 2007. He said that it wasn't after he had heard Willis' upbringing that he felt that team needed to get him. Singletary mentioned Willis' maturation in taking care of his family, dealing with losses and his determination to play through injury while at Ole Miss. That convinced Singletary that Willis was someone the team had to invest in.
"He has something in him deeper than anyone can understand," Singletary said.
Singletary side-stepped the Ray Lewis comparisons with Willis. The head coach said that both are going to be their own players, but what makes them the same is that they both have passion to make every play.
"He can do exactly what Ray (Lewis) is doing," he said. "He (Willis) can get so much better."
When asked about trying to sign tight end Vernon Davis to a long-term contract, Singletary didn't have any specifics. He did, however, say that he was confident in management's ability to get deals done.
"I'm so thankful that Pat got done," SIngletary said. "I think the most important message management sent today is that for those guys who go out there and perform, we're going to take care of our guys. Pat is a tremendous example of that."

Head Coach Mike Singletary
Opening Comments: Needless to say we are very excited, as an organization, as a team, to have [LB] Patrick Willis until 2016. It s a great day for the 49ers organization. I m very excited [Vice President of Football Operations] Paraag [Marathe] was able to negotiate a good deal and very excited that management could see the value, the ownership could see the value in a young man like Patrick Willis, who embodies everything on the field and off the field. He is a guy that I could stand up here and talk for a very long time about what he means to this team and what he means to the organization. We are very excited about him. We are excited about his coaches, continuing to help do everything they can, put him in position to make plays and just very thankful for him. As a coach, he makes my job and everybody else s a lot easier.
LB Patrick Willis
Opening Comments: Wow. Let me start first by thanking God. Without him, there was no telling where I would be at. It s been a long journey. It s not over yet, by far. I feel like it s just getting started. I d also like to thank, most of all, management. I would like to thank [Owner/CEO] John and [Owner/President/CEO] Jed York and Paraag for getting this done. It meant a lot to me to be here for the last three years. Going into my fourth season now, you ve seen a lot in this business and you never know what to expect, but now, the last three years have been amazing and to wake up now and finally know that this is my home and this is where the good Lord wants me to be at and the fans and my coaches, I m truly thankful. I d also like to thank my defensive coordinator, Coach [Greg] Manusky for allowing me to be a part of his defense. I d like to thank Coach Singletary. It s not over yet. I can hear it like it was yesterday, saying, Pat, that s not it, but I said, Coach, I made the play, and he said You crossed over, you are too high. I m grateful for that because no matter how many plays I ve made, if it wasn t the right technique, he s still on me and he s still on me today. Even when we are out there he says, Pat, you have to get your head on him good. I can remember [inside linebackers] coach Vantz [Singletary] helping me with all that he brings. I know a lot people think this day is about me, it s about the money and stuff like that, but I couldn t have done it without my teammates. I ve had some tremendous guys and we still have them now and there s not a day that goes by that I m not honored to be a part of them, to be on their team as well. Together we ll get it done. We will bring the sixth championship back here and I m just thankful today to know that I still be able to be here to do that.
On what point he felt an eagerness to get this extension done: Honestly, I really didn t know. All I knew was that if I continue to play, do the right things and carry myself in the right way, when it was time for something to happen, it would, and today was that day and I m thankful.
On whether he had a hint that it would happen today or anytime soon: I didn t. My agent Ben Dogra Let me give a shout out to him. Ben is a tremendous guy. He s a guy that not too many people get to see his face. You hear his name sometimes, but he doesn t get a lot of recognition. That guy is one of the hardest working men in the business. Just the other day I was talking to him and he was sick, as sick as could be. He was still on the phone and I said, Man, you need to get some sleep, and he said, I can t stop working right now. I have to continue it. As it goes, hard work pays off. He s a tremendous guy.
On what it means for the 49ers to extend his contract with two years left on his deal: It means a lot. It shows that they really wanted me here. It shows what they want and what I want are the same things and that s to win, to embody a great organization, to get this organization back to where it used to be and even better. For them to do the deal as early as they have, it means a lot to me. Each morning I wake up, I love to play this game of football and to know that there are people out there that care enough for me to make sure that my family is taken care of. I first said it when I was coming out of the draft, I love this game enough to where, if the money is good, but I love this game enough, if I had to practice or if I had to play a game one day and I had to go work hours afterwards, I would do that if that meant taking care of my family. Fortunately, I get to play the game I love to play. It pays me so I m able to take care of myself and my family, so I m grateful for that.
On whether this extension is a reward for what he s done or is it an advance of what he s going to do: I think both. I feel like what I ve done the last three years is only the tip of the iceberg. People think they ve seen the best I ve had to offer and they haven t by far. We can go in there right now and put on film and coach can show you and I can see myself where, Pat, you need to get better in this area, you have to get better in this. You have to be able to see that dig route when you see one route come in front of you this way. There so much more improvement in my game that I have to get to and I m willing to work every day to get to that point, but the best is yet to be seen, by myself or my teammates or this team in general.
On whether his improvement is watching more film or is it physical as well: I think both. I think you can never just be great. Every day is a work in progress. I think physically and mentally, I can get a lot better and I will. I talked to [Baltimore Ravens LB] Ray Lewis from time to time and other guys and they ll say, In this game, you must always continue to work because the game is always steadily improving each year,D.J. Williams Jersey, and that s my mindset. Each day I m able to go out there and practice. I want to practice, I want to get better, and each game I want to go out there and showcase that.
On whether playing for Coach Singletary is a reason he wants to stay in San Francisco: Of course, I love Coach Singletary and he says time in and time out about how happy he is to coach me. I m even more happy to be a player of his. For me to come in and for him to coach me the way that he did and the way that he has, it meant a lot for my game because I know for me in high school and college, not to take anything away from my coaches there, I love them as well, but I got away with a lot. I don t care if I had to run around the field 100 times and made that same play, it was OK as long as I made the play. But when I got here, it was more than that. It was about doing it the right way. It was about not crossing over. It was about not being too high. It was about doing it just right. I remember when coach used to tell me all the time, he would say, Why are you doing all this moving? You are using wasted energy. Just pump your feet and go straight downhill. That s all it takes. I m thankful to of had that so now I know anything you take when it s small and you mold it, as it grows, it knows the right way. I feel like that s been a blessing for me.
On whether this extension makes him feel like he should be the vocal leader of this team: I feel like a lot of people lead in different ways. There s a lot of different leaders, whether it s vocal, whether it s physical, but I ve always been the type of person I won t ask you to do something that I can t do. I won t get on you for something that I won t do myself. I will speak at times, when it s necessary, but I don t believe in talking just because you can. I believe in doing it the right way. I respect them as I want those guys to respect me. If it s necessary, then yes, I will. And Vice versa, if I m not doing my part, then I want if somebody overlooks him as a leader, if I m doing my part I want him to say, Hey, Patrick, that s not it. You have to do it the right way, so I m held accountable to myself and to them. I want us to lead together, that s what it s all about.
On how good this team could be: This team can be as great as we want it to be. I feel like all the pieces are in place. I think it s just a matter of doing it. I m really excited about what s to come, where we are going. I know somebody asked me the other day, Are you happy seeing the team get better each year? and I said, That s OK, but it s not good enough. The ultimate goal is to improve. The ultimate goal is to win and bring home a Championship. It s not just about winning one more game than you did the year before. It s about bringing it all home. That s the goal here.
On the status of his knee and when he sees himself getting back on the practice field: My knee is doing great. I m feeling well. [Head athletic trainer Jeff] Ferguson does an exceptional job of getting guys ready when they are injured and I feel great and I ll be back soon and I ll be ready to go.
On what he thought of the draft class: Our draft class was wonderful. You sit back and eat popcorn and I loved it. I know our offensive guys I think in this game, you need all three phases. It makes the game a lot easier. To be able to go out there and get a stop and know that the offense is going to come on the field, run the ball, throw the ball and put up points and give you a chance to rest. I think this draft class made us a lot better as well.
On how important he thinks the role of linebacker is in today s NFL: I enjoy it. It s one of those things, I know for me, when I was coming out, I didn t want NFL analysts to say this guys is just a middle linebacker. A lot of times they think a middle linebacker is only big and only stop the run and what not. I didn t want to be that type of guy. I wanted to be an all-around athlete, so if I was asked to cover, I would cover. If I was asked to blitz, I could blitz. If I was asked to stop the run, I could stop the run. I just wanted to a complete guy.
On Coach Singletary saying you could go down as one of the best to play the position: It s deep, but I know it s something that I m willing to accomplish. I know there will always be opinions on who will be the best here and who will be the best there. When I m done playing, I want to leave a legacy that says, this guy gave everything he has and he s one of the best players to ever play at that position or as a defensive player, period. A long time ago, I was doing this survey and the question was whether I would rather be in the Hall of Fame or whether I d rather be rich. I said to myself, being rich is OK for the time being, but people will easily forget about the money because somebody always comes back a year after that and makes more. That s just the way the world works and the economy grows. But, nobody can take that Hall of Fame ballot. When you re dead and gone, Uncle Sam takes your money, your family takes your money, but nobody can take that from you. That s what I want and what I want to go for.
On whether the 49ers are currently a playoff team: Of course. This is a Championship team right now, it s bigger than just a playoff team. I think we re a Championship caliber team. Do I think if we went out and played right now, 16 games, that we d be ready? No, we wouldn t, but I think with the time we have and the way the guys are committed, without a certainty that we can be and we will be.
On whether there is more pressure on you now with a new contract: No, I don t. I feel like if you prepare well, which I do my best to every week, then there should be no pressure at all. I feel like pressure is what you make of it a lot of times. Do I know there is a lot riding on my shoulders? Yes, I do. But ever since I was a kid, there has been a lot riding on my shoulders. If I was able to get this far, then I won t let anything else stop me from getting farther.
Head Coach Mike Singletary
On how important it was for him to lock up Willis two years before his contract was up: I think it was huge. Pat is one of those guys that when you look at our league, I think ownership, coaches and players realize what we have in a guy like Pat. This is one of the most unique individuals I ve ever been around. If you didn t know who he was, you d think he was just this special teams player. He s a guy that s very unassuming. He goes out every day and gives 150 percent. He doesn t complain about anything and always has a smile on his face. I think that is just a tremendous combination and that everybody saw that, and we can get this guy done because he s not going to do anything but get better. That was a great decision and I m just thankful it worked out for everybody.
On what he expects from Willis in the next seven years: The same thing I ve been getting. There is no one harder on Pat than himself. Every challenge that I ve given him or any of the defensive coaches have given him, he has met and superseded. Sometimes you sign a guy to a contract and you re thinking, Wow, I hope when he gets the money, he doesn t change. I hope that we get our value out of this guy. A guy like Patrick Willis, this guy is nothing but class through and through. So, I m very excited about him. That is something that never enters anyone s mind about Pat.
On the point in which you realized Willis was special: I didn t realize Pat was special until I heard his story. I remember talking to Scot (McCloughan) several times and saying, Scot, I don t see it. I m looking at it and he s not knocking anybody out and he s not doing this, and we re talking about picking him with the 11th pick? But, then I heard his story. I had a chance to sit down and look at his story. To me, it changed my whole mindset because I m looking at a guy who had gone through a lot of things. He was injured, didn t miss games, had family issues, he was the oldest taking care of his younger siblings and was responsible for them, he lost his younger brother right before the season started. When I heard all of that, I told Scot before the draft, I said, You know what, we got to get this guy. I m praying that we get this guy because he has something in him that is deeper than anybody could really understand. There is a ton of character there and it shows until this day.
On whether he knew Willis story at the Senior Bowl: I did not. I did not.
On whether Willis is already at a Ray Lewis level of play: I think this. Ray did it one way and Pat is going to do it another. He s going to do things that no other inside linebacker has ever done. He just has to continue to get better. He s a guy that I tell people it s just his third year in the league and he s made some plays that are just kind of mind boggling, but he s still working on his technique. It s amazing to be saying this because it sounds a little ridiculous, but this guy can get so much better. I know he s going to work at it to get there, but he can get so much better.
On whether Willis could be better than him: Oh yeah, I hope so.
On how Willis is different than Ray Lewis: I ll put it this way, he can do exactly what Ray is doing, but Ray is a different kind of guy. Ray gains energy from talking and all of the other things. Pat s already wired up. When he gets on the field, he s already wired. He doesn t have to say one thing. He s just going to play. From that standpoint, Ray does it one way and he gets himself going and he gets the team going. Pat does it another way and he s already going and everybody gets excited about the plays that he makes. So, that is what I mean when I say they are two different guys and they re doing it two different ways.
On whether Willis leadership has to grow on people: I think for Pat, Pat is just going to continue to be more verbal as he sees fit. I m going to talk to him shortly after this conference and tell him, Don t all of a sudden try to be something else. Just be who you are and that is going to be enough, and we ll be just fine.
On whether he sees some of himself in Willis: No. I will say this. Once again, I think we re two totally different kinds of guys. The thing that I see in him is what all great linebackers have, and that is the passion to make every play. That is the one common denominator in any great linebacker. They practice with a passion and they play with a passion. That s the one thing he has that Ray has. Ray wants to make every play. There were times that I had to sit Ray down and just say, Just do your job. He s down because he didn t make this play. It s OK because you made 20 others. It s OK. That is the same with Pat. I just have to remind him,Eric Decker Jerseys, It s OK, you re not going to make every play. But I was supposed to make that play. But that passion is there. That s key. That is the main thing of great linebackers.
On when he envisions other extensions for 49ers players: In all honesty, I m just so thankful that Pat got done. We ll just continue to go down the road and do what we do. I think the most important message that management sent today is for those guys that go out there and perform, we re going to take care of our guys. Pat is a tremendous example of that.
On whether he believes this a Championship caliber team: I said last year that I thought we were a playoff team. We missed it. Do I think we re a Championship team? I agree with Pat. If you put us on the field today, no, but when it s all said and done, we re going to do OK. I ll put it that way. We ll do OK.
On his take on the importance of the linebacker role: For me, playing linebacker was kind of a way of life to me. It s a different breed of a guy. You look at an offensive lineman, most offensive linemen you can spot them. They are totally different than defensive linemen. Offensive linemen are a little more quiet. Joe Staley is an exception. Most offensive linemen are a little more quiet and just kind of to themselves. Defensive linemen are more loud. They re talking loud. They re reckless. They play reckless. When you look at a linebacker, a linebacker sort of has to be the mixture of both because he needs to know where everybody is on the field. He needs to know in a split second if it is a run or if it s a pass, because if it s a run, he s got to get to a place really fast. He s got to get to a certain hole at a particular time on defense or he s going to miss the play,Women's Denver Broncos Jersey. And he has to diagnose it really fast because he also has a place to be on the pass. So, for Pat, the best thing about him, and as I ve said before, that common denominator and that passion to make every play, he is really good at knowing where everybody else is going to be because that really helps determine for him where he has to be in order to make a play and be at just the right angle. The middle linebacker or linebacker is a cerebral guy, but at the same time, there is a rage that is there that allows him to get where he needs to be.

===

Could Bill Parcells be the man to lead the New Orleans Saints through 2012-
Could Bill Parcells be the man to lead the New Orleans Saints through 2012?
During the afternoon hours on Thursday, reports started circulating that New Orleans Saints offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael was named the interim head coach of the team for the 2012 season. There of course is not truth to these reports as of yet, but someone is going to have to take over for suspended head coach . Who could it be?
A few other names besides Carmichael's have been thrown around including new defensive coordinator and even Bill Parcells. Yes, that Bill Parcells.
As Thursday moved forward, the former New York Giants' head coach had his name pop up in a number of reports including first by the . Word during the Combine was that Parcells was "getting the itch" to work as a coach again.
It's well known that Parcells and Payton are very close as the latter worked for the former years ago for a while. But would Saints owner Tom Benson bring in an outside shot when there are viable candidates already on staff?
Perhaps an answer will soon be known,Ryan Clady Jerseys.

Quotes from 49ers training camp
Quotes from 49ers training camp
The 49ers just sent me a transcript of the best quotes from today's arrivals by players to Santa Clara. I will just copy and paste the quotes for you all.
===
TE Vernon Davis
On what he is expecting from Mike Singletary a :
I m expecting Coach Singletary to be tough on us from the start. No nonsense. He wants us to be a family and stick together, be there for one another and just play this game the way it is supposed to be played.
On whether he was preparing for this training camp to be his roughest training camp:
I got my mind right for it just like anything else. I think of it as just training camp. That s what I do and I m sure that s what my teammates do as well. You just go out there and just play. You shouldn t think of it as being rough or brutal. In my mind, I don t think anything is rough. I take each day at a time just like I approach the game, one game at a time, just play ball and do what I m told.
On whether his days of getting in practice field fisticuffs are over:
It is behind me, but the one thing that I can t stop is being competitive and that s just who I am and how I m always going to be. I m going to be competitive all the time. I m going to try my best not to lose and most of the time I m going to try to win. That s just how it s going to be and if the other guy across from me doesn t like it, then he is just going to have to deal with it and it s just going to be that way. After we leave the field and come game time we are going to be best of friends. I wouldn t take it as anything. That s just how I practice.
On Coach Singletary s view on fighting during practice:
He does not like fighting. If you fight, then he will run the whole team. That s his philosophy. Like I said, if a guy is getting beat real bad in practice, he doesn t like it and gets mad, then that s on him. I don t think you can run the team because of that. Coach Singletary, I agree with him. I don t think there should be fighting. We don t have time for that. We ve got to move on and keep things moving and try to win games.

DE Justin Smith
On whether he likes the way things are set up for training camp:
Yes, I think we are in a position - we ve got the talent and the players that we think we need. Now, it s just a matter of putting it all together and going out and winning games. The first four or five games we are playing about everybody in our division, so it s going to be a huge month in September.
On his position being more defined this season:
I m definitely more comfortable and you know exactly what position you are going to be playing and we know exactly what kind of defense we are going to be playing. We are going to be playing a 3-4 pretty much, just go out there and get them. We are planning on our guys being better than their guys most of the time. Now it s just a matter of us going out there and actually doing it.
On whether the fact that Coach Singletary has been through a training camp as a player makes him less skeptical of the training camp schedule:
That s the thing. He s actively done it. I m sure under Buddy Ryan they were hitting twice a day. That s all they did back then. The first couple of weeks they were probably getting in shape and those sorts of things because they didn t have as many OTAs and things like that. He s been through it. It s no problem. He s definitely speaking from experience so that definitely makes what he s saying mean a whole lot more two weeks into it.

LB Takeo Spikes
On what he expects from Coach Singletary heading into training camp:
What I expect from Coach Singletary is we are going to hit the ground running. What I mean by that is I m pretty sure he wants to see who s going to be all in, who is going to be his players as far as stepping up to the plate, not only when it s time for you to do it when you are fresh. As these weeks go on, days go on you are going to become tired. That s just the reality of it. I think that s what he really wants to see. He wants to see how guys are going to respond to the adversity.
On whether he s ever been a part of a training camp with such a gap between reporting day and the first day of practice:
I ve never seen that. I ve never been a part of that, but I will be the first one to tell you, I m not complaining because as of right now, we break on September 1, if I m not mistaken. I ll take every day that s a teaching day. I ll take everyday that s a walk and greet, or whatever you want to call it because when we start up, then you are committed for six and half, seven months.
On whether he s been told he ll be given time off because he is a veteran:
I really don t have a schedule because I think once you go into camp, as a veteran guy like myself, in my opinion you just can t go in and say, I m going to go in this day and take this day off because you don t know. I like to go until my body tells me, You know what, let s back off a little bit. Let s take a rest. If I feel something coming on, then I ll take advantage of the time that has been given to me and that is the way I m going to play it this year.
On what he did differently this offseason with his workout:
Usually my last two weeks of training before camp comes up, that s when I usually do my two-a-days and the two-a-days consist of lifting, running, that s all one workout. I ll take a break and come back and do some sort of functional activity, whether it s working on pass rush moves. I did a lot of boxing, but modified boxing to where-just open hand stuff that simulates football movements. I did a lot of that and Parys [Haralson] did a lot of that with me. He was kind of my training buddy, him and Osi Umenyiora. We worked very hard and I think doing that kind of stuff over a five week time period, I really feel good.
On the passing of Jim Johnson:
It was devastating. The reason why was because it happened all of a sudden. I lost my father to brain cancer. It was somewhat similar to the way he was diagnosed in January and passed in October and that s the same thing with Jim. It happened towards the end of the season last year and now he s passing. So what he meant to the Philadelphia Eagles family, not only to the family, but the fans, the stability, credibility, I think he was the typical or ideal example of excellence. That s what he represented.

T Joe Staley
On the physicality of this year s camp:
If you know Singletary, you know that he s known for his intensity and being physical with an F as he puts it. So I expect it to be a physical and intense training camp with a lot of competition, a lot of energy. Pretty much compare it to other camps and we ll see how it goes when it gets started.
On what the team expects leading to Saturday s first practice:
A lot of team meetings. We have a meeting tonight at six and some position meetings after that and tomorrow we have a full day of meetings and get in the playbook and then get everything ready for Saturday so we can go out there and not waste any reps.
On taking more of a leadership role this year:
I feel like I do. I ve been able to play ever since I ve been a rookie here and going into my third year I feel like myself and guys like Patrick [Willis] and the young guys on our team need to step up and become more vocal and become the next generation of leaders on this team,Big & Tall Denver Broncos Jersey. I ve always been the captain of every team I ve been on, basically, college and high school. I don t really have any problems speaking my mind. I also feel that it s something that you earn you ve got to earn it and show it on the field.
===
LB Patrick Willis
On the start of training camp:
I m prepared for a great camp. I know that this camp is going to be brutal. It s going to be crucial. It s going to be very important to how our season plays out for us. The work that we re going to put in, the way that we re going to go about doing things, the way that we re going to carry out our mission, as I like to call it, on both sides of the ball on defense, offense and special teams of course. I think that it s going to be great for us.
On looking forward to Saturday s start of practices:
You can t dread it, this is what we do. This is our life. Sometimes you re not going to feel like it, but it s part of football. That s what comes along with it and that s what our head coach wants. That s what we ve got to do.
On getting an opportunity to start hitting again:
That s what I love. I miss the hitting. I ve been working out all of July and that was fun, but at the same time, I ve been missing what I love to do and that s football.Just being out there on the field and doing your profession. That s what I miss and it s almost game time, so I m getting excited.

DeMarcus Ware says Ray Lewis wants to be a Cowboy
DeMarcus Ware says Ray Lewis wants to be a Cowboy
All the rumors that Baltimore Raven's linebacker wants out of the dirty city of Baltimore seem to be true. According to , Lewis came up to him after the Ravens trounced the in December and pointed to his helmet as he said it's been a long dream of his to wear that Star.
And when the two met at the Pro Bowl, he said it to Ware again. Free agency starts this Friday, and there's no telling what Jerry Jones will do. But the big question is how in the heck can he sign Lewis, who likely will demand at least $10-$13 million--even more---a year.
I think he is genuine, Ware said. Believe me, he is genuine. He talked to me before he became a free agent. He talked to me two years ago about it. He calls me about once a week and talks about it then. I even said, Hey, Ray, I m tired about talking about this. You need to find Jerry Jones number and fly out there and talk to him. He says things like D-Ware, I need to get down there. You re the pass-rush guy and I need to play with you. Just call Jerry for me. Just call him. Just call him.
Wow. Why Lewis never made Jones aware of his affinity for the is mind-boggling. Why Ware never did, either, is also confusing. Could we have found a way to have Lewis on our team years ago before we signed Terrell Owens or even Roy E. Williams,Chris Harris Jerseys? It just seems so crazy that Lewis has had this dream that he's never pursued.

Week VI preview- Oakland Raiders (2-3) at San Francisco 49ers (0-5)
Week VI preview: Oakland Raiders (2-3) at San Francisco 49ers (0-5)
Video:
One big plus for the Raiders will be the return of left guard Robert Gallery from injury. Gallery has been their best lineman for the past several years, and his presence will only straighten their already strong rushing attack. The 49ers are getting their return specialist Ted Ginn, Jr back from injury, and despite the Raiders' stellar special teams performance against the Chargers the Raiders coverage teams have been prone to breakdowns.
All Time Record:
Oakland Raiders lead the series 6-5
First meeting:
The San Francisco 49ers beat the Oakland Raiders 38-7 in a game played at the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum on 12/20/1970.
Last meeting:
The Niners beat the Raiders 34-20 in a game played at Candlestick Park on 08/10/2006.
Matchups to watch:
Michael Bush v Patrick Willis: The Raiders have relied heavily on their running game and Patrick Willis is the 49ers' top defender. This puts the running back and the inside linebacker on a literal collision course. The Raiders need Bush to have a big day for the Raiders offense to flourish. The Raiders are seventh in the league in rushing with Bush coming off a hundred yard performance against the Bolts. The Niners rush defense is middle of the pack with the 18th ranked run defense.
Rolando McClain v Frank Gore: Frank Gore is the Niners primary threat. The Niners desperately need him to take the pressure off the struggling Alex Smith. McClain was a major part of the Raiders plan to revamp their run defense over the offseason. The Raiders defense has shown a propensity to give up big plays against the run. They have to make Gore work for every yard.
Oakland Raiders v Themselves: Through 5 games the Raiders have been flagged 54 times (6 declined) for 467 yards lost. (400 on penalties and 67 yards nullified by penalty.) The Raiders have gained a total of 1696, giving back a quarter of that on penalties has been quite significant,Ryan Clady Jersey. In four out of their five games, they have been in double digits, and they can't keep shooting themselves in the foot and expect to win. They also have to have better ball security. They are at zero in the turnover ratio, but their offense has recovered eight of their own fumbles so far.
5 keys to victory:
Run the ball. Jason Campbell is at his best when its time for a methodical drive down the field. If he can rely on the legs of Bush, that will set him up to get the ball out to the receivers.

"I will be out there on Sunday
Asomugha talks about 49ers' offseason pursuit; Reid updates Vick's status
Philadelphia cornerback spoke to the media through conference call on Wednesday and spoke about the ' interest in his services during the free agency period. Asomugha said he never had any direct contact with the 49ers at the time.
"If there were any talks, it was just with my agent," Asomugha said. "Everything was moving so fast, there wasn't any talks with me."
Looking forward, Asomugha says that the Eagles are still trying to get on the same page, hence why they are off to a slow start.
"We want to be better than we have these past few games," he said. "Everybody is confident about where we can build."
Fortunately for him, the 49ers aren't a team that he is unfamiliar with. In fact, Asomugha knows the 49ers very well and sees a great potential for the receivers.
"I've played them before... from the last eight years, we've been playing them in Oakland," he said of the annual preseason matchups he had against the 49ers while playing with the Raiders. "I know the receivers they had, they can get downfield,Brady Quinn Jerseys. I know Harbaugh has a gameplan that can get those guys downfield. It's just a matter of getting open. Those opportunities are going to come."
But knowing Asomugha's skills, the 49ers receivers will have a tough time having a big receiving day on him.
===
The talk of the week has been the health status of Eagles quarterback . Vick has a bruised right hand (non-throwing) and he may or may not play on Sunday. The quarterback thinks he'll be ready for the game.
"I will be out there on Sunday, regardless," Vick said on Wednesday. "There is a 100-percent chance I'm playing,Demaryius Thomas Jersey."
Eagles head coach was more careful about updating Vick's status. Reid said that Vick was a full participant in the Eagles' morning walkthrough.
"Good enough to take snaps," Reid said of Vick. "Improved quite a little bit from yesterday to today. I expect it to continue to improve."
Reid did say that the biggest concern for him is that Vick might have some trouble handling snaps from center. And if Vick struggles or his hand doesn't heal during the week, he won't jeopardize the team by putting him in the game.
One thing Reid did openly talk about was his praise for what head coach Jim Harbaugh has done with the offense in San Francisco.
"It looks like the players, quarterback in particular, are enjoying that system," Reid said. "It's quarterback friendly."
Reid praised Harbaugh for being a creative guy, an "expert" at coaching quarterbacks and that he was a great fit for the 49ers offense.
===
Quick notes:
, there will be a couple changes to the Eagles secondary on Sunday: Brian Rolle will start at weakside linebacker and Nate Allen will be at starting free safety.
Jim Harbaugh said that he expects both RB Frank Gore (ankle) and WR Michael Crabtree (foot) to play on Sunday.
Reid praised the 49ers rush defense and said they were "stout and athletic". When asked if he could identify any standouts on defense he singled out, Reid laughed and said that all the players stood out to him.
Since the 49ers needed a place to practice, the team decided to run their walkthrough in the hotel parking lot.

Reid praised Harbaugh for being a creative guy, an "expert" at coaching quarterbacks and that he was a great fit for the 49ers offense.

is a lightning rod of a coach
Vikings-Jets game preview Q&A
The up and down season of the Minnesota Vikings took another upswing this week with the acquisition of New England Patriot receiver . Huge enough of a sports story to eclipse Twins fever in Minnesota, the trade comes about a week shy of the Vikings' return from the bye for a Monday night tilt with the .
Moss is no stranger to the Jets or the team's celebrated corner ,Ryan Clady Jerseys, and therefore a conversation with is sure to feature some Moss talk. Check out his responses to my questions below and look for my answers to his in a subsequent post. As always, visit and let him know what you think about his analysis of this huge game for the Vikings on Monday night.
Joe Oberle: Many are calling the Jets the top team in the NFL. To what do you attribute that and what are the major concerns for the Vikings when they come to the Big Apple?
Tyson Rauch: I am not so sure I would say the Jets are the best team in the NFL, but Gang Green is playing very well right now. The Jets have won three division games in a row without their best pass rusher (Calvin Pace), their best run stopper (Kris Jenkins) and their best cover corner/defensive player (Darrelle Revis). The Jets are much improved on offense where quarterback Mark Sanchez has been very efficient, throwing 8 touchdowns with no interceptions through four games. As for what the Vikings should be worried about, the Jets are no longer a one dimensional team on offense.
JO: is a lightning rod of a coach, almost the polar opposite of the media-shy and clandestine Brad Childress. Does his larger-than-life profile fit New York or does his act only fit as long the team keeps winning?
TR: Either you love Rex Ryan or you don't, there is not much middle ground. Jets fans love Rex as he has changed the culture within organization and has given the team an identity. Ryan's brash style is not for everyone, which has led the Jets to becoming one of the most hated teams in the NFL. The one thing that is for certain, the players love Ryan, which will take him a long way in the NFL.
JO: In his second season, is Mark Sanchez showing improvements and what problems does he present for a tough Minnesota defense,Women's Denver Broncos Jerseys?
TR: The Jets have taken the handcuffs off of Sanchez and the young quarterback has thrived. Mark has a firm grasp of the offense and no longer forces throws or gets overwhelmed by the situation. Sanchez has done an excellent job spreading the ball around and will be even more effective now that Santonio Holmes has returned from suspension.
JO: Randy Moss has caught this town by storm. Is Darrelle Revis excited about a rematch, and how will the tough Jets defense attack Adrian Peterson?
TR: Darrelle Revis is still recovering from a hamstring injury so there is a chance Antonio Cromartie will be paired up with Moss. Cromartie did a solid job against Moss back in week two, shutting Randy down in the second half of the game. As for the Jets stopping Peterson, I am sure the Jets will run blitz in order to stop the run and force to beat them.
JO: These two teams went to their respective conference championship games last season and came up short. There should be a lot of excitement and fireworks in Jersey on Monday between Minnesota and New York (not to mention this weekend between the Twins and Yankees)--how do you see this one playing out?
TR: The stadium will be electric not only for the hyped Monday night match-up, but for the mere fact that the Jets have won three games in a row and the fans are fired up. As for the outcome of the game I think it all comes down to how much pressure the Jets can get on Favre. I think the Jets will let Peterson get his yards, but will force Favre to beat them, something I am not so sure he can do. If Favre gets into any type of rhythm, the Jets will have their hands full.

add Jacob Lacey
Lions re-sign Fluellen, add Jacob Lacey
The Lions have been quiet in free agency, but they . First, they re-signed defensive tackle Andre Fluellen. Second, they signed cornerback .
I've liked Fluellen as a player for a few years, but of course he plays at the most stacked position the Lions have. He's not as good as Ndamukong Suh, Nick Fairley, Corey Williams, or even Sammie Hill. As such, he isn't likely to get much playing time. However, when he does play, he should be good enough.
Lacey is only 24, and he has started 27 games for the Indianapolis Colts over the past three seasons. His best season was actually his rookie year, when he had 85 tackles, three interceptions, and 13 passes defensed,Denver Broncos Jersey. He's a pretty good cornerback, but he's not as good as Eric Wright, who the Lions lost to the Buccaneers. Could he be a solid starter for Detroit? Sure, in a pinch. However,Denver Broncos Jerseys, I'd much rather he fight Alphonso Smith for the third cornerback spot and have the Lions sign somebody else to start across from Chris Houston.
That being said, if the Lions draft a cornerback in the first round and combine him with Lacey and everybody else, they could have a solid secondary. Plus, if the defensive line is able to keep pressure on opposing quarterbacks, that will help. Detroit still needs to re-sign Stephen Tulloch, or try and swing for the fences on Curtis Lofton, but at least they have made a couple of moves.

where did you come from
Dancing With The Stars: Ranking Chad and Cheryl's performances from the 10th season (top 6)
6. Week 8:
Coincidentally, one of Ocho s top performances came when he and Cheryl danced the Jive to The Love Man.
With the competition heating up, Week 8 consisted of two individual dances from each couple. After receiving a disappointing 21 earlier in the night for the Tango, Chad bounced back with a high-energized Jive dance that may have saved him in the competition. Week 8 was the first time
Chad and Cheryl ended up in the bottom two, but they managed to outlast Niecy Nash and Louis Van Amstel.
5. Week 7:
ABC added an extra twist to the seventh week of the competition by adding a group dance on top of each couple s individual performance. Chad and Cheryl joined Pamela Anderson, Damien Whitewood, Nicole Scherzinger, and Derek Hough to dance Telephone as part of Team Gaga
The group received a 27 overall for their performance, with Chad turning up the heat according to Carrie Ann. However, she also pointed out there were a number of areas he struggled with during the dance.
4. Week 6:
On , you either grow, or you go,Denver Broncos Jersey. You grew tonight.
Len and the rest of the judges explained to Chad why they had been so harsh on him during the first five weeks of the show; they knew he was capable of dancing at a higher level.
In the week leading up to his performance of the Argentine Tango, Chad decided to head back to Cincinnati with Cheryl so he could get in some workouts with the Bengals. Turns out, his trip was exactly what he needed after struggling with the quick step the previous week.
While in Cincinnati, Ochocinco attended a Bengals Draft Party in which he was greeted by hundreds of fans. Chad seemed more energized after interacting with fans and drastically improved his dancing after receiving a 24 his best score of the season at the time.
3. Week 7:
Chad, remember this day, May 3 2010 the night you became a contender.
Nobody could have said it better than Len did after the type of performance Chad and Cheryl displayed with the Viennese Waltz. Finally, he had evolved into the type of dancer everyone had been waiting to see all season.
The judges raved Ochocinco for the job he did at extending his arms throughout the dance as they were full of fluidity. The look in his eyes said it all as he was holding back tears of joy.
2. Week 9:
One of the toughest tasks at making the semi-finals on DWTS was learning not one, but two individual dances in less than a week to impress the judges and fans. For his second dance of the semi-finals, Ochocinco realized he couldn t hold anything back with the finals on the line. Not to mention he was considered a serious underdog against three contestants all capable of winning the competition.
As unfortunate as it may have been for Chad to be performing the toughest of the Latin dances this late into the competition, he still displayed an impressive routine that earned him a 25. The judges were impressed for the most part especially with the way he lit up the audience.
The key to a successful Samba is excitement and Chad nailed it when he ripped his shirt off during the performance. It s more fun to watch Ocho perform with a smile on his face because it shows how much fun he s having. In his final performance on the show, No. 85 was all smiles.
1. Week 9:
Without any question, the Waltz was Ochocinco s best performance during his nine weeks on the show. After a long journey with many ups and downs, he finally displayed the type of routine the judges and his fans knew he was capable of performing all season.
All three judges raved Chad and gave him his best score of the entire season with a 27. All along, the potential was there for Ochocinco and after the Waltz, it was clear he finally evolved into a serious dancer after weeks and long-hours of training.
He deserves a lot of credit for the progress made since the premiere considering Chad was the only contestant in the semi-finals with no previous dancing experience. Any other season, the argument can be made Ochocinco may have had a better shot at advancing to the finals.
Here s what the judges had to say about his best performance:
Carrie Ann Inaba: " just nailed the Waltz! Chad, where did you come from? This new Chad with the new posture and the new elegance and the never ending movement one movement going right into the next movement, fluidity refinement."
Len Goodman: "Chad, I don t know where to start really. You re the only one with absolutely no dance experience in the semifinal. The others, they ve got some. They ve climbed here, you ve climbed mountains. And to come out in the semi-final and produce a Waltz like that fantastic."Bruno Tonioli: "Respect! Tonight, you are one of the guys that had the toughest criticism from us from day one. We ve been so harsh because we knew there was something there for us to see,Denver Broncos Jerseys. Tonight, you showed it to us. You re a star!"

and will not be as comfortable to push - sometimes
Discover How To Select The Optimal Infant Stroller by Jack Guzman
Any dad will tell you that the toddler stroller is their bridge to the rest of the world. Missing a toddler stroller, most families would be stuck at home, unable to bring the whole family outside and about. Some moms also find out that a walk outside is the single way their noisy toddler will ever, ever fall asleep. No matter what your reason for using a toddler stroller, whether work or fun, it is clear that strollers are a mainstay of daily living, an important help for both the busy mom on the go and the relaxed mom out for a walk.
You used to be faced with two base choices; either, you chose a pram,Denver Broncos Jersey, a large drab toddler stroller where the child could lie down, or with a small,Denver Broncos Jerseys, flimsy toddler stroller where you would tie your toddler into a sitting position.
Strollers come in a wide range of functions to meet the many wants and situations of moms. If you are primarily going to use your toddler stroller while you are out buying stuff, or need a toddler stroller you can take on trips that can be brought out quickly, you should get a lightweight toddler stroller. These lightweight strollers are tiny and fold away easily. Of course, the negative is that they are not as sturdy as standard strollers, and will not be as comfortable to push - sometimes, a very lightweight toddler stroller can be difficult to make go in the direction you want. If you have a lot of space, consider a a standard or full-size toddler stroller.
Look into getting a jogger (jogging stroller) if you enjoy training, the outdoors and an active life. You will have a secure grip on the handlebars thanks to their special design. Even if only you and not your child will get the benefits of the exercise, he or she will have fun.
You will spend a lot of the next few years pushing your new stroller; be sure to take the time to make sure you have the perfect available stroller for your child and your lifestyle.

as a geriatric maternity patient
Parenting Book Review: Sprituality In The Mother Zone: Staying Centered, Finding God
Here's an example of what happens when an academic gives birth at 40 and suddenly discovers she has a woman's body holding up her head. Ms. Thomas's treatise is heavily weighted with a neuvo-Catholicism, used to give form to her spirituality,Denver Broncos Jerseys. Her search for the Transcendent is sprinkled with the wisdom of many different writers who focus on aspects of motherhood. We get a glimpse of her strength from the brief description of her pregnancy and birth experience. She planned hospital birth with a physician. Diagnosed with complete placenta previa two months before birth, she miraculously delivers vaginally without complication! The midwives among you may find this astounding; nevertheless, the fact that she was able to escape a cesarean section (as a geriatric maternity patient) is a near miracle at many hospitals.
Woven throughout the book is reference to St. Sophia, who provided a spiritual touchstone at needed times. Ms. Thomas covers the early years of motherhood, pointing out the issues in plain view but not seen by many of us because of our focus on taking care of our family's daily needs. She provides a thoughtful guide for how one might incorporate the spiritual in everyday motherhood. I highly recommend this book for those who seek a spiritual awakening, especially those falling under the Christian banner. For others, the many references to feminist writings are worth a perusal of the book to seek out sources of thoughtful ideologies.
For readers concerned about her views about breastfeeding, no need to worry. Ms. Thomas writes eloquently of her discovery of the spiritual powers of breastfeeding. She writes, . . . for me breastfeeding often felt like the deep relaxation and sense of union that often accompanied prayer. Surrendering to the experience contributed to a rich sense of God's presence and to a deepening trust in my own body, even as I relished nourishing my baby.
Amen,Denver Broncos Jersey.

Quick Smoothie
Quick and Easy Snacks For Your Toddler
Your growing toddler needs to snack quite a few times a day in addition to eating regular meals with the rest of the family. Here are a few quick and easy snack ideas that you can put together in just a few minutes. You toddler will enjoy these yummy snacks.
Ham and Cheese Crackers
Cut up some pieces of ham and cheese and serve them with some crackers. If you want to make it fun, use a cookie cutter to cut fun shapes out of the cheese.
Fruit Dip
Caution, this can get a little messy!
Cut up some fruit in bite size chunks and serve with a small bowl of yogurt. Encourage your toddler to dip the fruit in the yogurt,Denver Broncos Jersey. This is an easy way to get your toddler to eat a serving of fruit, while also getting some extra calcium and protein in his/her diet from the yogurt.
Low Sugar Cereal
I always keep a box of low sugar cereal like cheerios in my pantry. They make a great snack with a little milk, or even just a bowl of dry cereal. Dry cereal also make a great take-along snack. Just throw a serving in a Ziploc bag and toss it in your purse.
Veggies and Dip
Keep some cut up veggies in the fridge. Small pieces of carrot, peeled cucumber, celery as well as small sections of broccoli and cauliflower all make great finger food for toddlers. Make sure the pieces are very small to prevent choking or steam them to soften them up. Serve with a little ranch dressing if desired.
Peanut Butter Sandwich
A PB&J has been a snack staple for ages. Mix things up by toping the peanut butter with some thin slices of apple or banana instead of the jelly. Or try smearing the peanut butter on a tortilla. Add jelly and roll it up. Cut the rolled up tortilla into strips for a fun new way to eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
Quick Cheese Quesadilla
Place a soft tortilla on a microwave safe plate. Top one half with cheese and fold the other half over it. Microwave 30-60 seconds or until the cheese is melted. Cut into wedges and let it cool a little before serving.
Quick Smoothie

Throw half a banana or some berries in a blender along with some vanilla yogurt and a splash of milk. Add a little ice if desired and blend until smooth. Serve in a sippy cup or with a straw for a quick fruit smoothie,Denver Broncos Jerseys. Your toddler will love drinking a milkshake for a snack.

redemptive that mysteriously transmits to the child in a positive
Foster Parents Do Make a Difference in the Lives of Foster Children
Judith Viorst, in her best seller Necessary Losses, discusses how we are forced to grow beyond the losses that are an inevitable and necessary part of life. For children forced into the child welfare system, the loss was necessary for their own well being and safety. These children had to be temporarily or sometimes permanently removed from their biological environment due to neglect, abandonment or abuse.
Foster parents are wonderful people empowered with the courage and fortitude to open up their hearts and homes to foster children. They understand that becoming a foster parent is a special mission or calling requiring the ability to be a guiding and supporting influence on young hurting souls. They realize that there is absolutely no alternative equal to another family environment when children, through no fault of their own and for whatever reason, can no longer live with their biological families and they have willingly stepped up to the challenge of making a difference in the life of a child.
I both admire and salute all foster parents because foster parenting is a demanding commitment. Not only are they required to acknowledge the bereft foster child's difficult emotions when first placed in their home, integrate the child into their family, teach the child the family's rules and rituals, routines and expectations, engender feelings of safety and security, but they are also required to work cooperatively in efforts to reunify the child with his/her birth family and so much more.
Yet, I believe there is such a wondrous power in the gift of human love and compassion. New life emerges in hearts of hurting children longing for unconditional love, tenderness, compassion, patience, understanding and hope. When foster parents reach out and lovingly touch a child, they infuse something priceless of themselves into the very soul and essence of another. When they touch a child in empathetic, kind, gentle, healing ways, they may be incognizant of the lasting impressions they are imprinting upon the child's mind screen with each loving word, gentle embrace, and warm encouragement.
The power of love and compassion is awesome. There is something subtle, magnetic; redemptive that mysteriously transmits to the child in a positive, healthy and permanent way. It is the ministry of healing; the most lasting and meaningful kind of human touches. It is the silent, holy, and powerful contagion of a foster parent's influence.
Literally thousands of lives have been positively affected by foster parents who have volunteered their homes, their lives, and selves to these children. As a former foster child myself, I can attest to the sustaining power that an understanding look or warm embrace can have on crushed spirits. I know what a loving foster home environment is. It is more than just a place to sleep comfortably and it is more than wiping away sad tears,Denver Broncos Jerseys, but it is a refuge from the world of chaos. Foster Parents do make a difference.
Staff at the Children's Place at Home Safe wear shirts with the inscription: When all is said and done all that matters is that I have made a difference in the life of a child. What a great testimony!
If you have not thought about it before, now is the acceptable time to consider becoming a foster parent. You remember what Jesus said in the gospel of Mark?
"Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me." Mark 9:37.
People were bringing little children to Jesus to have him touch them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it." And he took the children in his arms, put his hands on them and blessed them. Mark 10:13-16.
The need for loving foster homes is GREAT! There are children waiting for families in your community,Denver Broncos Jersey. If you have room in your heart to give the gift of hope and healing and if you have room in your home to provide safety and stability for children who have been neglected, abandoned, or abused, please consider becoming a foster parent.

This swamp is not legally protected
Kenyan Sitatunga: The Very Rare, Endemic And Shy Antelope by Robert Muhoho
A rare sight, this red- earth antelope species has splayed hooves for walking in muddy places.
I finally get to see a situnga for the first time in my life. In bird lingo when you see a bird for the first time, it's a lifer' for you. But the situnga is an antelope and a very rare one indeed. I wonder how I can term these experience, to see one of the world's rarest antelopes on a road=side swamp, which happens to have no protection but yet harbors one of the largest population in the country.
When I first saw the sitatunga in 1999 here, I was surprised. It was the same kind I had seen at the Saiwa Swamp many years ago, recounts Mzee Kipkel Maiyo from the area. I reported the sighting to the KWS office in the area and a team came to see if it was true.
Kinwal swamp lies on the Eldoret Kapsabet road. The tarmac string runs right through the swamp and it is quite unbelievable that a rare antelope lives in the midst of the papyrus swamp lining it.
It's a lovely sunny morning and we are walking along the main road trying to see though the enormous papyrus flowers for the rare red-earth colored antelope that has splayed hooves specially adapted for walking in muddy swamps. A pair of white butterflies flitting by the grasses grabs our attention as they settle on a stalk of grass looks like love is in the air.
Kingwal swamp is surrounded by people who cultivate right around it and divert the water to there farm. Yet the farm has been expanding because of siltation. We're getting the running commentary from Mary Mbenge, a young woman who knows the swamp like the back of her hand.
This swamp is not legally protected, she goes on,Denver Broncos Jersey, yet it has more sitatunga compared to Saiwa swamp or Lewa Down.
Three crowned cranes peck on the farmer's ploughed fields by the swamp. This road is actually very useful, continues Mary, because it acts as a fire breaker. She recalls an incident when a fire did break out but did not spread to the other side of the road. It saved the situnga.
By this time, we're getting impatient to see the elusive antelope. Don't worry, you will see them says the young woman confidently. I'm not quite sure because from the literature I've read, they prefer to come out during the cooler part of the day=early morning or late evenmg. It's now approaching midday and the sun is burning.
We'll drive in .The swamp stretches seven kilometers inland on this side of the road. You will meet some villagers and members of the environment group who will tell you more.
With that, we jump into our hired matatu and with Mary Mbege acting as the navigator; we brave the beaten track inland. The Nandi home steads are picturesque sitting on pretty farms. The ploughing season is on and every one is busy tilling the land for preparation for the rains. More crowned cranes grace the fields. Finally; we reach a homestead and walk through it to the swamp which is thick with papyrus, reeds and other water plants. A red fireball lily breaks the monotone green. Ladder leans against a tall tree. It's one of the situnga towers from where can hopefully spot the antelope.
When I counted them in 2004 they were 67.Saiwa Swamp has fewer than 12 there was six that were Tran located to Lewa Down in Laikipia a few years ago. You will see them, she repeats with the same confisence. She is one of the first to study the swamp, starting as a Bsc student on world life management at Moi University. Hooked by the beauty and rare sightings in the area, she's been around for six years now, working with the community and starting environment clubs.
The swamp is busy with birds and spots what look like otters swimming in a pool in the swamp. We trudge through to get a closer look with the sun hot on our backs. Its then that one member of Tasike Setanda, the local environment group, spots the Sitatunga among the reeds.
The excitement is palpable. We scoot through the reeds to get to exact spot and crane our necks for a glimpse. All we can see is its nose sticking out of the reeds and a spot of the rich red color of its coat. We deem ourselves lucky, consoling ourselves that to see even the nose tip of a rare antelope is really lucky.
Okay, we're now going to that homestead, announces Mary .A stunning red flowered tree marks the homestead. If you don't mind getting your feet wet, we can walk through the swamp or drive around it.
By now, faint with anger most of us opt for the car. Our lunch is in it too. Mary and a few other friends walk through the swamp. I like the confidence of this young woman who made complete map of the swamp with Gaps markings for her bachelor's degree project. What she doesn't tell us is that with the muddy terrain, it will take us almost an hour to drive around the swamp while she wades through the swamp in a matter of minutes.
Again, we walk through the earlier homestead to reach the swamp lining it. Another ladder is propped against a tall tree. I think the Nandi has built a ladder to their specifications forgetting that short people can not climb rungs that almost reach their chest. The sportier ones among us are up the tree=tower and in the clearing of the swamp among seconds. They spot a pair of sitatunga coolly having there lunch break.
I cannot come almost 400 kilometers from Nairobi to see a swamp antelope and not see it because of the inappropriately built ladder. The guys are great and help improvise the ladder and with much heave and hoi scale the ladder and see the sitatunga=in the swamp clearing. Its a historical moment for all of us seeing it at the first time. I told you you'd see he sitatunga, says Mary smugly. The local people do not hunt this species, that's why we can see them almost any time during the day. And another thing. The Nandi do not even have a word for the sitatunga because they have never seen the antelope before.
Satisified, we clamber down to a picnic lunch by the swamp.

Kingwal swamp is 25 kilometers from Eldoret towards Kaosabet. Its slightly bigger than Saiwa swamp which is a protected national park for the sitatunga. Kingwal currently measures 2.73 square kilometers. Saiwa Swamp near Kitale is 1.89 square kilometers.
The sitatunga once numerous around the swamps of Kenya is now listed as a threatened animal. This is because swamps in Kenya haven't being managed properly, most being drained for other purposes. In other parts of Africa they are numerous where the wetlands are left alone.

we all have dangerous household cleaners in our home. In fact
Keeping Your Kids Safe At Home by Wayne McDonald
If you are like me (and thousands of other people) we all have dangerous household cleaners in our home. In fact, kids, and even teens, are at risk with these dangerous cleaners in our home.
Cleaning the kitchen can be hard work. Most people have a variety of household cleaners under the sink for each cleaning problem. To get things clean it takes a lot of muscle and elbow grease' to get the job done. Unfortunately, the harder you work, the more you breathe in dangerous fumes.
Problem: Keep Out Of Reach Of Children
Have you read the precautions and warnings on the back of those cleaners under your sink? STOP --- go to your kitchen right now and grab one of your household cleaners. Read the back of the product. Pretty scary stuff.
I have glanced at many of these warnings and precautions on the back of the household cleaners, and until recently - I continued using these cleaners. Many of these cleaners suggest using the products with adequate ventilation. I do not know the size of your bathroom, but most bathrooms are tiny with poor ventilation. Your eyes burn and you try to hold your breath. You try to clean the bathroom quickly so you don't breathe in too many of the fumes.
Solution: Safe Non-toxic Cleanser
There is an alternative to many of these household cleaners and it is a safe, non-toxic all-purpose cleaner called Botanic Gold®. But first, here are some of the warnings posted on many of the products you probably have in your home right now:
Comet with Bleach® Liquid Cleaner - CAUTION: MAY CAUSE EYE IRRITATION, KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. Contains bleach. Use with adequate ventilation. Do not mix with other products, especially toilet bowl cleaners, acidic cleaners, or products that contain ammonia as irritating fumes may result.
Formula 409 Spray All Purpose Cleaner® - Keep out of reach of children. Causes eye irritation. Do not get in eyes, on skin or clothing. Wash thoroughly with soap and water after handling.
PineSol Cleaner® Eye and skin irritant. Harmful, if swallowed. Do not get in eyes. Avoid prolonged or repeated skin contact.
Lysol Basin Tub & Tile Cleaner® - Keep out of reach of children. May cause eye irritation, avoid contact with eyes or skin.
Dow Heavy Duty Oven Cleaner® - Causes burns to skin and eyes on contact.
I mention these household cleaners because I have used them to clean my own house. I remember cleaning my oven with the Dow Heavy Duty Oven Cleaner® and although I had gloves on --- I could still feel the vapors burning my hands through the gloves,Denver Broncos Jersey.
Easy and Wipes-off Clean
Now imagine if you had one all multi cleaner that cleans grease off the stove with ease. In fact, this same cleaner will remove wax from votive candle holders. It can clean the grime off your car and gummy price tags wipe-off clean.
This one product I use every morning to wash my face. I am amazed how squeaky clean my face feels after I wash my face. I could go on with more testimonials but the truth is you, the results are in the bottle.
I leave you with one last testimonial. One of my customers uses it to clean her cat box. She said it was the only thing she has found that neutralized (removed) the smell of cat urine from the plastic litter box.
Be safe, healthy and well. Thank You

Our clients have complained to us about companies such as Luxury Resort Management
Is timeshare a financial investment? by Jose Gonzalez
Have you been scammed into buying a timeshare as an investment property because of rental weeks or marketing programs that you were offered during a fraudulent sales pitch?
Many timeshare scam organizations make promises that they will refer you to a company that will:
- rent weeks at your timeshare to cover the purchase price and maintenance fees or to make tens of thousands of dollars in profit
- sell a timeshare you already own in order to help you to purchase a new timeshare
- sell your timeshare for a profit
Timeshares are not financial investment properties! Often the promises of renting or selling your property are made verbally, and are not included in the contract that you sign when you purchase the timeshare. The salespeople persistently guarantee that your weeks can be rented or sold, but state that they are not able to include this in their contract as it will be a partner company that is responsible for listing the properties. Sometimes they will even show you a fax from their partner rental agency in the US stating that you are guaranteed listings and that rental suites at your property are in high demand by vacationers.
All of these false promises of an excellent return on investment entice vacationers to purchase timeshares. The resorts do not advise you that the companies they are referring you to will charge you an upfront fee to list your property.
Our clients have complained to us about companies such as Luxury Resort Management, Resort Rentals International, Dreams RSI or Regal Resales and Rentals, to whom they have paid several hundreds of dollars to list their properties on their websites. These types of companies promise to rent or sell timeshare properties for far more than the actual value. For example, they may offer to list your property for $2,800 per week when the actual amount that it may rent for is less than $500. These unrealistic prices and assurance of rentals or sales lure clients into paying the upfront fee for their services. They often promise to send you the contract and draft listing before even processing the fee on your credit card. However, the administration fee is processed right away, and clients do not receive the draft listing for several weeks.
The rental agent contract usually states that their company will represent your property on their website. When the clients go to the rental agency´s website, there are no actual listings of timeshare units. Sometimes there is a generic listing of the property, but no details about the price or description of the unit. Potential renters or buyers have no information by which to even become interested in purchasing your weeks in your timeshare. The websites only have online forms for people to contact the agency if they wish to sell or rent their timeshare, not to rent their client´s timeshares.
Six months or a year later, the client´s properties have not sold or been rented, and they have never been contacted by the property management or realty company, or any of their representatives. The property management companies have already received their fee, so there is no incentive for them to follow through on their false promises. These companies are not in the business of renting or selling properties. Their profits are solely made by the listing fees that vulnerable timeshare owners pay to them. In short, not only have the timeshare purchasers been scammed by the resort, but also by the rental agencies who make deceitful guarantees that they will rent or sell their properties.
Property managers and realtors in North America normally do not charge upfront fees to represent you in a rental or sale. Listing on their website is part of their normal service, and is an expense incurred by the agency in order to do business. Payment is made on a commission basis once they are successful in renting or selling your property.
Avoid being scammed again by dishonest sales practices! When thinking of purchasing, renting, or canceling a timeshare, make sure that you do not pay any money upfront for administrative fees. You work hard for your money, and it is important that these companies don´t try to take that from you.
