DeMarcus Ware says Ray Lewis wants to be a Cowboy
All the rumors that Baltimore Raven's linebacker wants out of the dirty city of Baltimore seem to be true. According to , Lewis came up to him after the Ravens trounced the in December and pointed to his helmet as he said it's been a long dream of his to wear that Star.
And when the two met at the Pro Bowl, he said it to Ware again. Free agency starts this Friday, and there's no telling what Jerry Jones will do. But the big question is how in the heck can he sign Lewis, who likely will demand at least $10-$13 million--even more---a year.
I think he is genuine, Ware said. Believe me, he is genuine. He talked to me before he became a free agent. He talked to me two years ago about it. He calls me about once a week and talks about it then. I even said, Hey, Ray, I m tired about talking about this. You need to find Jerry Jones number and fly out there and talk to him. He says things like D-Ware, I need to get down there. You re the pass-rush guy and I need to play with you. Just call Jerry for me. Just call him. Just call him.
Wow. Why Lewis never made Jones aware of his affinity for the is mind-boggling. Why Ware never did, either, is also confusing. Could we have found a way to have Lewis on our team years ago before we signed Terrell Owens or even Roy E. Williams,Chris Harris Jerseys? It just seems so crazy that Lewis has had this dream that he's never pursued.
